What is the best treatment for asthma?

As Dr. Robert F. Lemanske, Jr., of the University of Wisconsin Hospital-Madison explains, “childhood asthma treatment is not one-size-fits-all."

The best treatment for your child’s asthma will include: 
  • taking the prescribed medications as directed by your child’s healthcare provider and 
  • learning to avoid triggers that provoke asthma symptoms. 
Children and parents need to work together with their healthcare provider to create and then closely follow their child’s Asthma Action Plan.
