Is Asthma a lifelong condition? Will my child outgrow asthma?

Keren Chansky Suberri, Ph.D., ABPP

There is no cure for asthma, but symptoms can come and go over time.

Some children stop having asthma attacks as they get older.

Just because a child is feeling fine and doesn’t have any symptoms for a period of time – even several months – does not mean that the child does not have

asthma. Asthma is a disease that can be well managed with proper medical care and many asthma flare-ups can be prevented.
