I am divorced and have a significant other in my life, and so does my Ex. How do you handle this kind of situation?

Keren Chansky Suberri, Ph.D., ABPP

I believe that each parent and each adult in a step-parent or caregiver role has a unique relationship with your child and this relationship represents an important resource for the child. I do not have a ‘cookie cutter’ approach to working with families where parents are separated, divorced, or otherwise single, or where there are blended families or families with multiple caregivers.
Each family is unique.
I strive to work together with the adults who are in the decision-making capacity for the child to create the most appropriate plan for addressing the child's and family’s needs.
